JPG is a useful destination when an older editor, upload form, or workflow does not accept WebP.

know

Check transparency before downloading

JPG has no alpha channel. Any transparent or translucent WebP pixels are composited over white, and the page warns you when the source contains transparency.

Questions about WebP to JPG.

Format behavior, transparency, file size, and what stays on your device.

What happens to WebP transparency in a JPG?

Transparent pixels are filled with white because JPG cannot store an alpha channel. The conversion warning appears before you run the tool.

Will WebP to JPG change image quality?

It can. The image is decoded and then encoded as JPG, so another lossy encoding step may introduce visible changes.

Does the conversion keep the same dimensions?

Yes. Format conversion keeps the decoded width and height; it does not intentionally resize the image.

Is animated WebP supported?

No. The current tool accepts static WebP only and rejects animated WebP files.

Are my images uploaded or stored?

No. Your original and processed images stay inside your browser and are never uploaded to our server. Refreshing or closing the page clears the working image data from the browser. Files you download remain on your device until you delete them.
